46 Miles For A Cause! Help Kids Beat Cancer!

Hi Everyone :) I have decided that I am going to walk a total of 46 miles before September 13.  For those of you who may not know, I hold a special place in my heart for THON. THON is a charity that I am completely passionate about. I have seen first hand just what the money raised for THON and the Four Diamonds Fund does.  THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world! Penn State students come together every February for a 46 hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon held at the Bryce Jordan Center. As a Penn State alum, I can honestly say that this is without a doubt the best thing I could have ever participated in. I am still very active in THON today and am always bringing awareness about the cause. We dance so no parent ever has to hear the words "your child has cancer" ever again. Since 1973, THON has raised over $100M For The Kids (FTK)! I have seen first hand the impact this has on families. I have met our THON families. They are the

Dark Moonlight Book 2 in editing!!!

Good news, everyone!! :) The second book to my Dark Moonlight series has now been sent to the editing stage! From the book cover to the story itself, this process can take several months. We are looking at the release date for this book to be early next year! I know it seems so far away, but everything has to be perfect before a book can get released. Depending on what my editing team finds, I may need to go back and change some things up (and possibly even change some of the storyline). It's really a back-and-forth process. I am not going to release the title of the second book, but you will all know it soon enough! Once the book has been sent for it's final editing round, I will release the book title then. It's going to take a few months before it does reach the final editing, so hold tight! :) In the meantime, check out Book 1, Dark Moonlight: Lunar Rising! Skye's story is one you won't want to miss. Full of senior year emotions, friendship, and roma

Dark Moonlight: Lunar Rising *NO Spoilers* Q&A's

As I sit here eating my peanut butter apple, I thought now would be a good time to answer some of my fan questions about Dark Moonlight: Lunar Rising :) Q: Where do you get your inspiration for your names? A: A lot of times, the names I pick out for my characters are based on names/people I like. For example, Skylar (my main character in my Dark Moonlight trilogy series), is a name I absolutely love for a girl. I've always wanted to name any future daughter I have this name, but my husband didn't care too much for it. So, Skye's character was created. Roxy is based off my best friend's name and thought it would be good to have her be Skye's best friend. Jason, just like with Skye, is a name I've always liked. As far as the characters in Dark Moonlight goes, Roxy is really the only name I picked from someone I know personally. Q: Where did your inspiration for this series come from? A: There really isn't one answer for this. I always joke around w

8 Years and Counting!

8 years ago, today, I had my first date with my now-husband. We went to TCBY for frozen yogurt and then back to his parents' house for a movie night. It was then I agreed to be his girlfriend. Rewind a few years ago, when I was in the student lounge at Penn State Fayette, I saw him for the first time. He had on a black and white Tapout shirt, aviator sunglasses, and a mohawk. Yeah, I had a major crush on him. I never talked to him, though. I'm normally not a shy person, but when it came to him I couldn't bring myself to even say hi.  The following semester we had English 202c together. It was the worst class we had ever taken and we kind of started bonding a little over that. From talking, I found out he works out at the campus gym every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday after class. Coming from a fitness background myself, I told him I could get him abs in 2 weeks. I couldn't, but it was a way for us to spend time together. I ended up going to the gym with

Finally Overcame Writer's Block

After a long month of not writing anything else in my 2nd book to the Dark Moonlight series, I can finally say I overcame writer's block!  And how amazing is this mug a fan had made for me? She loved A Dragon Within so much she sent me a mug she made with "Strong Like McKenna" written on it! If you're reading this, I absolutely love it!! My Lipton Peach Mangosteen Green Tea had never tasted better! I have been stuck getting started on Chapter 18 and I was able to write up to Chapter 20 tonight (my mind needed a break, so Chapter 20 is where I will pick things back up). Skye's story is really starting to get complicated. Between high school, figuring out what to do about college, her friendship with Roxy, and her relationship with Jason, it's a wonder she even knows what day it is! I am having a lot of fun writing this story for you all. There is so much that has been going into it. I had to do more research on werewolf myths for this book and it was fun

Get To Know Me

Hi everyone! :) A year ago I decided to take a leap and become an author. I must say, I have LOVED every minute of it! From publishing my first book, A Coal Miner's Wife , to now having the first book of my Dark Moonlight trilogy series out, I can honestly say this has been such an adventure I never knew I needed. Since this is my first blog post about being an author and my books, I thought I'd start off my kind of letting you all in on my life. My pen name is N.M. Williams, which is just my first/middle name initials, and my last name. Nothing crazy there. I live with my husband, our two beautiful, black cats, Pain and Panic, and our box turtle, Turbo. We live in a small Pennsylvania town, not far from where I grew up. My husband and I both love Disney and everything about it. In fact, we try to vacation there every couple years. On top of that, I am very much into fitness and, of course, writing! :) That pretty much sums everything up about me. All of my books are
